Benjamin and Thomas Barker

Benjamin Barker was born in 1720 in Nottinghamshire. After a rift with his family he moved to Pontypool where he lived and worked until 1781. He had some success as an artist, mainly painting horses or coats-of arms. Read more about Benjamin Barker.

Thomas Barker was the son of Benjamin and was born in Pontypool. Artistic talent was evident from an early age and the family moved to Bath. He experienced more success than his father, one of his best known works being "The Woodman and his Dog". He later became known as Barker of Bath. Read more about Thomas Barker.
